PROFILE
The Department of Statistics was established in the year 1951, with (Late) Prof. K.Nagabhushanam as Head of the Department. It is a matter of great pride that the department was started by such an eminent personality who obtained his Doctorate in Statistics under the guidance of Prof. Harald Cramer, an eminent statistician of the World. The department, since inception, has been working in tune with the mission of the University to promote teaching, research and extension. .The Derpartement organised several National and International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops in statistics. The department offers a Postgraduate Courses namely, M.Sc. (Statistics) along with Ph.D programmes.The faculty of the department have been recieving several research projects from UGC, DST and other funding agencies.
